Brian Wong
Founding Member & Director
Brian Wong is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Hong Kong as well as a geopolitical strategist and advisor. A Rhodes Scholar (2020) from Hong Kong, Brian completed his DPhil in Politics at Balliol College, Oxford in 2023. He previously graduated with a Distinction in the MPhil in Politics (Theory) from Wolfson College, University of Oxford, and First Class Honours from Pembroke College, University of Oxford with a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Brian was the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Oxford Political Review, and has authored two books, Metamorphosis (2021) and the Era of Geopolitics (2023). He is also a regular contributor and commentator for on CNN, Al Jazeera, TIME, Nikkei, The Diplomat, Foreign Policy, on Asian geopolitics and Chinese foreign policy. @BrianWongOPR
Michael Shao

Michael Shao is an associate consultant with Bain & Company in New York. He is a co-founder, former chairman and board member of OPR. He graduated with a BA in PPE from St. Edmund Hall in 2020. He remains involved in the sponsorship, promotion, and interview side of the publication.
Nicholas Leah
Founding Member & Director
Nicholas Leah is a barrister at 3 Hare Court Chambers. He helped set up OPR as a postgraduate student at Lincoln College, Oxford, during which time he served as OPR’s Managing Editor and Secretary of the Oxford Union. He is a former Visiting Lecturer on the LLB Law programme at City, University of London and won the 2022 City Law School Teaching Excellence Award. He previously studied the Bar Course as a Lord Justice Holker Scholar of Gray’s Inn, having previously completed a Graduate Diploma in Law at City University, an MPhil in History at Oxford and a BA in History at UCL. @NicholasGLeah
Chang Che

Chang Che is a non-fiction writer covering Chinese politics and society. He previously worked as the Asia technology correspondent for the New York Times. His work has been published in Foreign Affairs, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and others. He holds an MPhil in Politics (Theory) from New College, University of Oxford. While at Oxford, Chang was editor-in-chief of Oxford’s magazine of arts and letters, the Oxford Review of Books. @Changxche
Simon Hunt
Associate Editor & Director
Simon Hunt is Business & Technology Correspondent for the Standard. He holds an MA in Journalism from City, University of London and is also a graduate of Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford where he studied Philosophy and Theology. During his time at Oxford, Simon was Editor of the Cherwell student newspaper. After graduation from Oxford, he worked as a reporter for the wealth team at Bloomberg News in London. He also enjoys nature and the outdoors and is a trustee of the Open Spaces Society, Britain’s oldest national conservation body. As a former editor-in-chief of the Oxford Political Review, Simon now plays an advisory role assisting the senior editorial team. @SimonPeterHunt
Kate Schneider

Kate Schneider is an investigative data reporter for the Investigative Journalism Foundation of Canada. She holds an MPhil in Politics (Comparative Government) from Pembroke College, Oxford where she focused on race, colonialism, and Canadian and American political development. She previously graduated from the University of Toronto with a BA Hons. in political science. Her writing has appeared in CBC News and the National Post. Kate also sits on the Board of Directors for Survivors to Superheroes, a New York-based non-profit that advocates for young survivors of sexual violence. @kteschneider
